Thank you in advance for your time and commitment! The swim season is short and volunteers are critical to making this year a success!
- All families are required to work three half-meets during the season. If you do not sign up, you will be assigned to any remaining open roles.
- There's no requirement on which half of the meet you sign up for, but if you have younger swimmers, you'll want to sign up for the first half of the meet, and middle school/high school swimmers sign up for the second half.
- Once GCSL publishes the meet, we will email our families to log into SwimTopia and sign up for a volunteer role. Pick a meet date, select your name, and click "Job Signup" to see the available positions.
- Positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so it's best to act quickly to get the days and times you desire.
- On meet day, all volunteers must arrive on time. Please plan ahead for traffic and travel time, especially for away meets. If you expect to be late, arrange for someone to cover your position temporarily and notify the Parent Volunteer Coordinator as soon as possible with your expected arrival time. Running a successful swim meet requires everyone's cooperation. Clear and timely communication helps ensure the meet runs smoothly and reduces stress for volunteers, coaches, and families.
- All volunteer assignments are final. If you are unable to fulfill your assigned role, it is your responsibility to arrange a swap with another family for either the job or the meet date.
- Notify our Parent Volunteer Coordinator of any changes as soon as possible, so there is a note on record of the change.
- Any necessary changes must go through our Parent Volunteer Coordinator.
- Families are expected to fulfill their volunteer commitments. Failure to do so may result in a swimmer being ineligible for the next meet or the end-of-season banquet. Any action taken will be determined by the coaches and council leaders. We hope to avoid these measures and appreciate everyone's support in helping the team run successfully.
We're here to help. If you have questions about a volunteer role, just ask. We want every family to feel supported and experience the Thunderbolt spirit that has made our team special for over 50 years.
