Founded in 1976, the Thunderbolts are one of the oldest and most accomplished summer swim teams in the Gwinnett County Swim League. Based in the Riverbrooke Subdivision of Duluth, our team is renowned for its competitive excellence and tight-knit community. With at least seven county championships, including standout wins in 2011 and 2014, The Bolts consistently rank among the league’s best. 

Led by head coach Jim Reason, swimmers aged 4-18 thrive through hard work, development, and tons of summer fun. Beyond the pool, they foster lasting bonds and personal growth, a legacy inspired by beloved coach Carole Cripe. A Duluth staple for nearly five decades, the Thunderbolts blend success with a family spirit, offering kids a memorable summer experience while building confident swimmers and strong community ties.
