    Great First Week of Practice!!

The first week of practice is in the books, and it was a great week.  The sky was clear, the water was wet, and your swimmers looked great!!!

Thank you all for showing up and supporting the team.  It's great to be a Thunderbolt!

Let's look ahead a little bit.

    Time Trials

Next Thursday's practice will actually be our Mock Meet / Time Trials.  All swimmers 14 and under will swim at least two races each.  This helps the coaches know who is ready to swim what events in a real meet, which events your swimmers are the most competitive in, and (especially for younger swimmers and new families) it gives you a chance to see a little bit of what a meet will be like.  We will need ALL swimmers 14 and under there at 6:30.  More information will follow.

    Volunteers

You guys are truly fantastic, one week into the season and we already have 70% of our volunteer positions for the season filled.  That is an amazing number.  Thank you to everyone who has already signed up to volunteer.  If you have not, please consider looking where the openings still are and finding where you best fit.  It takes all of us to do this

    Officials Needed

The biggest area that we still need people is in the Stroke and Turn and Starter roles.  It takes about 30 minutes of training (just watching a video) and then taking an on-line quiz, and you are qualified.  Let me stress that this is NOT the Olympics.  You don't need to be perfect, and you don't need to know every rule of the sport.  And when you are an official, you are part of a group officiating -- you are not doing it alone.  We still need people to take the training.  Please consider getting certified and helping the team out.

Again, your swimmers are awesome; you guys are awesome.  We'll see everyone in the pool on Monday!
