HM Hammerheads @ the THUNDERBOLTS - Thursday, June 6
Hello Thunderbolt Families!
We are hosting our first swim meet at Riverbrooke this week (and, for those who have been on the team a little longer, our first home meet since COVID!). The meet is Thursday, 6:00pm @ Riverbrooke (makeup day is Monday @ 7:00 pm).
PARKING
Parking is going to be tight. When the parking lot fills up, you can park along the side of River Summit Trail and Clearbrooke Way, keeping the curbs on one side of the street free to allow for cars to pass easily. "No Parking" signs will be posted on one side of the street. Please be careful not to block driveways or park too close to intersections. We have attached a map that we encourage to look at. If you live in the neighborhood, walking is a really good option. If anyone on the team likes carpooling…
START TIME
The pool will be open for set up at 4:30. The Thunderbolts will warm up in the pool from 5:00-5:30. Meet starts at 6:05 pm with the national anthem and a Bubble Heat for any swimmers who are not competing in the official meet.
We are also adding a five-minute break during the meet before the relays to allow both teams to get their relays set up and in position.
HOME TEAM RESERVED AREA
The away team is going to set up on the Playground side of the pool, and their swimmers will be in the small lot outside the gates. Thunderbolt Parents are invited to set up on the clubhouse side of the pool or at the turn end of the pool. Swimmers will all be in the grass down by the lake, and families are invited to set up there as well if they wish. There is also a grassy area outside of the pool deck next to the lake that we invite any families to set up in. We do ask, however, that swimmers not be in that area without their parents near them. Our HOA has requested that all swimmers from both teams stay off of the playground and tennis courts. Tents and coolers are welcome outside of the pool deck, but on the pool deck there unfortunately simply isn’t room.
HEAT SHEET
We will email the heat sheet out tomorrow for you to print if you like, or you can use the app. No hard-copy heat sheets will be available at the meet.
CONCESSIONS
Several of the parents have been working so very hard to get concessions set up. A huge thank you to Melissa and Meredith for all their help. Concessions will be set up at the entrance to the playground. We will have pizza, BBQ sandwiches, drinks, chips, and candy. Cash or Venmo.
VOLUNTEERS
Thank you to everyone who has already signed up. We just need a few more folks. I know that Mr. Magas has reached out to some of you about being Stroke and Turn judges - we still need a couple of more helpers in that area. Also, for anyone who will be around at the end of the meet, our clean up crew still needs a few hands. We want to leave the pool in pristine condition!
This is going to be a huge meet, but hopefully lots of fun and lots of great competition for our swimmers.
As always, GO BOLTS
