Practice Times & Volunteers Needed
Hello Bolt Families!
Practice starts on Monday! For the first two weeks of the season - while school is still in session - we are only doing evening practices.
- 10 years old and younger from 7:00-7:45
- Middle School from 7:45-8:35
- High School from 8:30-9:30
After Memorial Day, we will go to having both morning and evening options for practice.
Please be sure to arrive at the pool 5-10 minutes before practice begins to give your swimmer adequate time to put down their bags, put on their cap and goggles, and be ready to get in the water when practice begins.
We are also starting to put together all of the volunteer positions that it takes to run a swim season. More info about this during our parent meeting, which will be DURING PRACTICE on Tuesday; 7:15 in the Riverbrooke Club House. But, we did want to give a first call for parents to get trained as starters and as stroke-and-turn judges. The training is free and it is entirely online. Without officials, we cannot run our meets. Not only are you providing a huge service for the team, but this is also a great way to learn more about the sport. And, if nothing else, no one is closer to the action at the swim meets than the officials. If you are interested in getting trained, just reply to this email, and I can send you all of the asynchronous training materials.
As a reminder, if we can not gather enough volunteers to train and serve as an official we will be forced to pay for officials to work our meets. This has never happened with the Bolts and we don't want to start now! Let's pay our Coaches and not have to contract officials.
See everyone on Monday,
and GO BOLTS!
